Laminate Shredder Machine for Laminates & Lamitubes
A laminates waste shredder for the multi-layer material ordinary machines struggle with — laminated pouches, lamitubes, toothpaste tubes, blister foil and printed packaging rejects, destroyed beyond reuse and ready for recycling.
What the Laminate Shredder Does
Laminate waste is its own category of problem. Multi-layer flexible packaging — film bonded to foil bonded to more film — is engineered specifically not to tear, which is exactly what makes printed laminate rolls, laminated pouches, lamitubes, toothpaste tubes, blister foil and label stock so stubborn once they become rejects. Printing and packaging converters, FMCG plants and pharma units generate this waste by the tonne, and most of it carries a brand name that must never reach the market intact.
The Raj Electricals laminate shredder machine is built for that material. Cutting blades shear the multi-layer structure into small pieces, destroying printed packaging beyond any possibility of refilling or counterfeit reuse while reducing its volume for storage and onward recycling. We have manufactured laminates waste shredders and grinders for the printing and packaging industry for decades — it is one of the categories the company built its name on, with clients such as Hindustan Unilever, Godrej and GSK on our list.
Laminate shredders are configured to the waste they will see — the right build for loose pouch rejects differs from one for full reels or baled film, and we manufacture both single shaft and dual shaft machines. Rather than quote a one-size spec sheet, we ask what your laminate waste looks like and recommend the configuration, with shred size customisable by mesh from 1 mm to 30 mm or more. Contact us for detailed specifications for your material.
Key Features
- Handles the whole laminates family — laminated pouches, lamitubes, toothpaste tubes, blister foil, aluminium foil, monocartons and label stock.
- Destroys printed and branded packaging — rejects leave the machine unrecognisable, protecting your brand from misuse and duplication.
- Customisable shred size — output defined by mesh size from 1 mm to 30 mm or more, matched to your recycler’s or disposal partner’s requirement.
- Single or dual shaft configurations — we build both and recommend per the form and volume of your laminate waste.
- All-metal construction — no plastic parts used, rugged build for continuous production-floor duty.
- Proven with FMCG and pharma names — from the manufacturer behind laminates waste shredders for India’s printing and packaging industry since 1985.
Laminate Shredder Specifications
Because laminate shredders are configured per application — pouch rejects, reels, tubes or mixed laminate waste each call for a different build — there is no single published specification table. Contact us for detailed specifications. To quote accurately, we will ask for:
- The form of your laminate waste — loose pouches, full reels, lamitubes, blister foil or mixed rejects.
- Daily or monthly volume — so the machine is sized for your real throughput, not a brochure figure.
- Required shred size — what your recycler, cement co-processor or EPR partner accepts.
You will get the recommended configuration, full technical specifications and a firm price in writing — and a trial on your own material at our Mumbai works before you commit.

- Feed the laminate waste Pouches, tubes, foils and printed rejects go into the hopper — loose or as they come off the line
- Blades shear the layers Hardened cutting blades shear through the bonded film-and-foil structure that resists tearing by hand
- Shred size is controlled Output is reduced to the agreed shred size — customisable by mesh from 1 mm to 30 mm or more
- Destroyed output discharges Shredded laminate collects for bagging — printed material now unrecognisable and unusable
- Onward disposal or recycling Shredded multi-layer waste moves to recyclers, cement co-processing or your EPR partner with documentation

Laminate Shredder — Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly counts as laminate waste?
Anything built from bonded layers: laminated pouches and rolls from flexible packaging lines, lamitubes and toothpaste tubes, blister foil and blister packs, aluminium foil-backed packaging, monocartons and label stock. If your material is film-on-foil-on-film — the kind you cannot tear cleanly by hand — it belongs to this category, and it is what this laminates waste shredder is configured for.
Can it shred filled or part-filled lamitubes?
For filled tubes there is a better answer than straight shredding: Raj Electricals manufactures a Lami Tube Squeezing and Product Recovery Machine that squeezes the contents out for recovery before the empty tube is destroyed — valuable when the product inside (toothpaste, cosmetic creams) is itself worth recovering or must be disposed of separately. For empty tubes and tube-making rejects, the laminate shredder handles them directly. Tell us which situation you have.
Is the laminate shredder single shaft or dual shaft?
We build both, and the honest answer is: it depends on your waste. Loose, flexible material in volume often suits one configuration; denser or bulkier laminate streams suit the other. Rather than push whichever machine is on the floor, we look at the form, volume and feeding method of your waste and recommend accordingly — and you can watch your own material run at our works before deciding.
Why shred printed laminate rejects instead of selling them as scrap?
Because intact printed packaging is a brand liability. Pouches and tubes carrying your artwork, batch codes and barcodes can be refilled and passed off as genuine product — a real and recurring problem in FMCG and pharma. Shredding destroys the packaging beyond reuse before it leaves your custody, which is exactly why printing and packaging converters and brand owners install these machines in-house rather than trusting the scrap chain.
What shred size can I get?
Shred size is defined by mesh and customisable from 1 mm up to 30 mm or more, depending on requirement. Brand-destruction duty usually wants a small shred so no readable fragment survives; recycling and co-processing partners may accept larger pieces. Specify what your downstream partner needs and the machine is configured to deliver it.
What does a laminate shredder machine cost?
Every machine is quoted to the job. What moves the number is capacity, throat size, motor rating, MS or SS construction and the automation you add — a blower, a conveyor, a control panel. Our guide to what drives machine cost walks through each of those; send us your material and daily volume and we will size the machine and quote it, usually the same day.
Which industries typically buy this machine?
Printing and packaging converters destroying misprints and changeover waste; FMCG manufacturers destroying packaging rejects; pharma companies disposing of blister and foil waste under documentation; and lamitube producers handling line rejects. Laminates waste shredders and grinders are a long-standing Raj Electricals category — the client list includes names like Hindustan Unilever, Dabur, Parle and GSK.
