Dual Shaft Shredder Machines
One cross-cut engineering platform, sized by feed opening: two counter-rotating shafts of interlocked hardened cutters that grab, pull and tear whatever is fed between them — from laminate tubes to whole HDPE drums. Built in Mumbai since 1985.
How a Dual Shaft Cross-Cut Shredder Works
Two parallel shafts carry interlocked cutter discs and rotate towards each other at low speed. Whatever lands between them is gripped, pulled down and torn apart by shear — not struck at blade speed. That low-RPM, high-torque action is why a dual shaft machine bites progressively through thick drum walls, grips high-tensile woven fabric that slides around single blades, and tolerates the screws, staples and inserts that real waste always carries.
The output is uneven cross-cut shred — destruction output, sized by the cutter thickness fitted, selected at order. For volume reduction, disposal, co-processing or sale as mixed shred, that is exactly right. When a buyer needs uniform granules, the shred feeds a grinder as stage two — the standard recycling-line pair. Every model runs splined, hardened gearing with zero slippage, branded industrial motors on 415 V 3-phase supply, and powder-coated mild-steel frames.
One platform, sized by feed opening and horsepower: pick the width that takes your material as it arrives, then the drive that matches its density. The models below are the current dual shaft range.
The Dual-Shaft Line-Up at a Glance
| Model | Feed width | Motor | Indicative throughput | Configured for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DS4005 | 400 mm | 5 HP | 250–300 glass · 50–100 elastic · 500–700 green waste kg/hr | Glass bottles, elastic waste, garden waste |
| DS5007 | 500 mm | 7.5 HP | 350–450 bottles · 200 bags · 1,000–1,200 green waste kg/hr | Bottles, PP woven & non-woven bags, garden waste |
| DS7510 Combo | 500 mm + 12″ throat | 5 + 5 HP | 60–80 kg/hr screened regrind | Two-stage shred + grind in one frame |
Throughputs are indicative and vary with material, feeding and cutter configuration. Some model numbers are pending final confirmation with the factory. Specifications are subject to change for constant product development.

Which dual shaft model fits your waste stream?
Tell our technical team your material, its size as it arrives, and daily volume — we’ll recommend the feed width and drive honestly.
Dual Shaft Shredder — Frequently Asked Questions
Dual shaft shredder or grinder — which do I need?
Shredder if your waste is too big, too thick or too mixed for a grinder throat, or if the job is destruction and volume reduction. Grinder if you need screened, uniform regrind from material that already fits a throat. Many recycling lines run both: dual shaft first, then a grinder as stage two.
How do I pick the right model?
Two questions decide it. First, feed width: the opening should comfortably take your material as it arrives — bottles loose need 500 mm, carton bales need 750 mm, a whole drum needs 1000 mm. Second, drive: denser, thicker material needs more torque, which is why the same 400 mm chamber comes at 3, 5 and 7.5 HP. Tell us the material and daily volume and we recommend honestly.
Why is the output an uneven shred size?
A dual shaft machine tears rather than cuts against a screen, so pieces vary — normal for every primary shredder. Piece size is steered by the cutter thickness fitted (12/15/19/24 mm, selected at order). For defined granule sizes, add a grinder stage.
What materials can the dual-shaft line handle?
Across the range: mixed plastic scrap, drums, crates, bottles, PP woven and non-woven bags, laminate tubes, cartons and tetra pack, pharma rejects, glass bottles and vials, e-waste and devices, elastic and textile waste, cellulose sheet and green waste. Keep tramp metal and batteries out of any shredder; each model page lists what belongs on it.
What do dual shaft shredders cost?
Every machine is quoted to the job. What moves the number is capacity, throat size, motor rating, MS or SS construction and the automation you add — a blower, a conveyor, a control panel. Our guide to what drives machine cost walks through each of those; send us your material and daily volume and we will size the machine and quote it, usually the same day.
Can I see my material shredded before buying?
Yes — bring your actual material to our works in Andheri East, Mumbai, and watch it processed on the model you are considering. A trial settles capacity and output questions better than any brochure, and our machines already run across India and in export markets.
