Plastic Shredder Machine Price in India — Indicative Guide
Every machine we build is quoted to the job, because a grinder sized for sprue beside a press and a shredder sized for a recycling line are not the same machine. What follows is what actually moves the number, how to work out your own payback, and how to get an exact quotation — usually the same day you ask.
What actually drives the price
Two machines that look identical in photos can differ by lakhs. These five factors explain almost all of it.
Imported vs Indian machine — the real cost comparison
Imported machines often quote a lower sticker price. The comparison changes once you count what it takes to land, run and maintain one in India for ten years.
| Cost head | Indian manufacturer (us) | Typical imported machine |
|---|---|---|
| Quoted price | Ex-works Mumbai; what you see is close to what you pay | FOB foreign port — add freight, insurance, duty, clearance |
| Landed cost | Quoted price + GST + transport within India | Often 25–40% above the sticker once landed and commissioned |
| Spare blades & screens | From our own works; re-sharpening locally available | Imported on lead times of weeks; freight on every order |
| Service response | Our technicians travel from Mumbai; phone/WhatsApp support same day | Depends on the importer’s agent network — verify before buying |
| Downtime risk | Low — spares and service are domestic | The machine waits for parts to clear customs |
| Resale & support after 5 years | We still service machines we built decades ago | Importer relationships and parts supply can lapse |
To be fair: well-made imported machines exist, and for some specialised duties they are the right call. Our argument is simply that the quotation page is not the price — the ten-year cost is.
Will the machine pay for itself? Work it out on your own numbers
Regrinding in-house replaces virgin resin you would otherwise buy, and stops you selling scrap at scrap rates. The gap between those two is the whole return, and only you know it — so here is the arithmetic rather than our guess at your figures.
- Value recovered per kg = your virgin resin rate − the rate your scrap dealer pays you.
- Monthly recovery = value recovered per kg × kg of scrap you generate per month.
- Monthly running cost = power (motor kW × hours run × your tariff) + one operator + blade sharpening set aside monthly.
- Monthly net = monthly recovery − monthly running cost.
- Payback in months = quoted machine price ÷ monthly net.
Send us your material, your scrap volume per day and your power tariff, and we will run this with your numbers and the quoted price of the machine that fits — including the honest cases where in-house grinding does not pay and buying regrind is cheaper.
How to get the sharpest price — without getting a worse machine
A few honest levers genuinely reduce cost; a few false economies cost you more later. Worth knowing before you negotiate with anyone, including us:
- Stay standard where you can. Standard MS construction, standard mesh size and 415 V 3-phase supply keep you in the regular production cycle — customisation is where price climbs.
- Size from real numbers, not ambition. Capacity you never use is capital sitting idle. Use the selection guide to size honestly, then add 25–30% headroom — no more.
- Specify SS only where the application demands it. Food, pharma and corrosive duties, yes; general plastic scrap, no.
- Don’t trim the motor. An underpowered machine jams, overheats and wears blades fast — the saving disappears in the first year.
- Don’t skip installation and operator training to save a small line item; misuse and overloading are the most common causes of shredder problems.
- Don’t compare quotes without spares pricing. A cheaper machine with costly blades is the more expensive machine.

Pricing, delivery & warranty FAQs
Why don’t you publish exact prices?
Because two “200 kg/hr shredders” can be genuinely different machines. Your material (film vs lumps), construction (MS vs SS), mesh size, motor voltage and automation all change the build — and therefore the price. Publishing one number would either overcharge simple duties or understate complex ones. The ranges on this page bracket reality honestly; the exact figure comes on a written quotation once we know your specification.
Do the prices include GST, delivery and installation?
Indicative ranges here are ex-works Mumbai. GST applies as per the prevailing rate, and freight depends on your location and machine weight — anywhere from a few thousand rupees for a small grinder within Maharashtra to significantly more for a 3,000 kg machine travelling cross-country. Our quotation itemises machine price, GST, freight and installation separately so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
Can I get financing or EMI for a shredder machine?
We do not finance machines directly, but industrial shredders and grinders are standard plant-and-machinery assets that banks and NBFCs routinely finance under machinery loan and MSME schemes (including CGTMSE-backed lending for eligible units). Our quotation and proforma invoice provide the documentation lenders ask for. Speak to your bank first; we are happy to supply any technical documents they need.
How long does delivery take after ordering?
It depends on the model and customisation. Standard machines in our regular production cycle ship faster; SS-grade builds, custom mesh sizes and export-voltage motors add manufacturing time. We confirm a delivery commitment in writing with the quotation — and because we manufacture in-house at Andheri East, that date is ours to keep, not a supplier’s.
What does installation and commissioning involve?
We provide installation and maintenance services on site. Commissioning covers placement and levelling, electrical connection checks (415 V, 3-phase for most models), a supervised first run with your material, and operator guidance on safe feeding, blade care and lubrication. Most installations complete in a day once your power supply and foundation are ready — we share site requirements in advance.
What warranty and after-sales support do you provide?
Every machine carries a manufacturer’s warranty, with the period and terms stated on your quotation. More important in practice: we stock and supply blades, screens, bearings and electrical spares for our machines from the same Mumbai works that built them, and our technicians service machines across India. Blades are wear parts on any shredder — periodic re-sharpening is normal maintenance, and we guide your team on schedules. See why customers choose us for the full after-sales picture.
