Plastic Shredder Machines, Grinders & Granulators

Every plastic recycling machine we build falls into two families: shredders for primary size reduction of bulky scrap, and grinders/granulators for fine, uniform regrind. All manufactured in Mumbai since 1985, all available with custom configurations.

Which machine family does your scrap need?

A plastic shredder machine tears bulky, tough material — lumps, drums, crates, bags, FRP — into rough pieces. A plastic grinder machine (also called a granulator) cuts lighter scrap into small, uniform granules that go straight back into your molding machine or sell as premium regrind. Many plants run both: shredder first for size reduction, grinder second for final granule size. Below is the full catalogue, one page per physical machine.

Grinders & Granulators — RE Series

Rotor-and-knife cutting against a screen produces uniform granules sized by the mesh (15 mm standard, customisable). Seven frame sizes from the 3 HP RE8 mini grinder to the 75 HP RE40 — 20 to 1,200 kg/hr — each available as a base machine or as a CB variant with cyclone blower for automatic discharge and collection. Best for PET bottles, sprues, runners, films and reject parts.

Dual Shaft Shredders — DS Series

Two counter-rotating shafts with interlocked blades pull material in and tear it apart — the workhorse design for high-volume mixed waste: bottles, film, bags, cartons, drums and e-waste. Configured by feed width and horsepower — pick the width that takes your material as it arrives, then the drive that matches its density.

Single Shaft Shredders

One slow-turning rotor (80 rpm) with 26 hardened blades paring hard, thick material against fixed blades. The line’s machine is the S3-600: 30 HP (22 kW), 300–500 kg/hr, 600×1000 mm hopper — for plastic lumps, purgings, FRP boards and rotomoulding rejects, plus wood and paper on the same platform.

Squeezing & Recovery Machines

For sealed pouches you cannot sell — expired, rejected or damaged stock — these stainless-steel machines squeeze the liquid out and shred the wrapper in a single pass. 60–95% product recovery at 40–120 kg/hr across the DS3003 (300 mm) and DS4005 (400 mm) platforms, in SS304, SS316 and budget ECO variants. Built for FMCG, cosmetic, pharma and food streams.

Other industries we build for

Every machine on this page is built at our own works in Andheri East, Mumbai. If your material is not listed — an unusual polymer, a mixed stream, an awkward form factor — the same platforms are configured to order. Send us a sample and we will tell you honestly whether we can shred it well.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a plastic shredder and a plastic grinder?

A shredder uses slow-speed, high-torque shafts to tear bulky or tough material into rough, uneven pieces — it is the first stage of size reduction. A grinder (granulator) uses high-speed rotating knives cutting against fixed knives and a screen, so every granule that leaves the chamber is below the mesh size. If your scrap is large or contaminated, shred first; if you need uniform regrind for reuse, grind. The full comparison is on our grinders & granulators page.

What capacity range do your plastic recycling machines cover?

Grinders run from 20 kg/hr (RE8 with blower) up to 1,000–1,200 kg/hr (RE40). Dual shaft shredders are sized by feed opening and matched to your material, and the S3-600 single shaft takes 300–500 kg/hr depending on material density. If you need more throughput, machines can be customised — share your daily tonnage in the enquiry form and we will size it for you.

How much does a plastic shredder machine cost in India?

Every machine is quoted to the job. What moves the number is capacity, throat size, motor rating, MS or SS construction and the automation you add — a blower, a conveyor, a control panel. Our guide to what drives machine cost walks through each of those; send us your material and daily volume and we will size the machine and quote it, usually the same day.

Can I see my material shredded before buying?

Yes. We encourage trials — bring or courier a sample of your scrap to our Andheri East works in Mumbai and we will run it on the recommended machine. You see the actual output size and throughput before committing. Contact us to schedule a trial; it is the fastest way to remove guesswork from the purchase.

Do you customise machines for specific materials or factories?

Yes. Mesh size (and therefore output size) can be customised, contact parts can be built in SS grade instead of MS, hopper and throat dimensions can be adapted to your largest piece, and export orders get motors wound for your country’s voltage and frequency. Around four decades of customised builds — from tetra pack shredders with liquid separation to FRP shredders — is the core of what we do.

Do you supply outside Mumbai and outside India?

Yes. Machines ship across India with on-site installation and maintenance support, and we have exported 50+ machines to markets including Dubai, the UK, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Mauritius, Nigeria and Kenya. Export machines are supplied with the voltage/Hz motor your grid requires and export-grade packing.
