RE40 Plastic Grinder — 40″×40″ Granulator, 75 HP
The largest granulator we build: 75 HP through a 40″ × 40″ throat, grinding 1,000–1,200 kg of plastic per hour. One machine, one operator, a tonne of uniform regrind every hour.
Plant-Scale Grinding Without a Plant-Scale Line
At some volume, adding another mid-size grinder stops making sense: two machines, two operators, two blade sets to maintain, two discharge points to manage. The RE40 is the consolidation answer — a single granulator that outgrinds three mid-size machines, built on the same rotor-and-screen geometry as every RE model but scaled to 4.7 tonnes of steel.
A 40″ × 40″ throat accepts any plastic item below 40 inches — crates stacked flat, large blow mouldings, bulky rejects, pre-shredded drum and furniture pieces — and the 9 rotating + 6 fixed blade set drives them through the screen at 1,000–1,200 kg/hr. Output is regrind sized by the mesh, uniform enough to dose straight into extrusion or sell at sorted-polymer rates.
This is the machine behind our “up to 75 HP” line: recycling plants running multi-tonne daily intakes, large moulders centralising scrap reprocessing, and aggregators who buy loose and sell ground. The RE40CB adds a 10 HP cyclone blower for automatic bagged discharge at 700 kg/hr on light material.
RE40 Plastic Grinder — Full Specifications
| Technical specifications | |
|---|---|
| Base model | RE40 |
| Throat size | 40″ × 40″ |
| Motor HP / kW | 75 HP / 55.16 kW |
| Throughput (15 mm screen) | 1,000–1,200 kg/hr |
| Output size | As per screen size |
| Screen size | 12–15 mm standard / as per customer requirement |
| Blades (rotating + fixed) | 9 + 6 |
| Can grind | Any plastic material below 40″ |
| Voltage | 415 V / 50 Hz / 3-phase (3P + N + E) |
| Feeding | Manual feeding |
| Machine weight (approx.) | 4,700 kg |
Throughput is for a 15 mm screen and varies with feeding speed, material and bulk density; a finer screen lowers output. Keep metal objects out of the cutting area — they will break the blades. All specifications are subject to change for constant product development.

RE40 Plastic Grinder — Frequently Asked Questions
What electrical supply does a 75 HP grinder need?
A 415 V / 50 Hz 3-phase connection sized for the 75 HP motor with Star Delta starting — your electrical contractor will size the breaker and cabling from the machine datasheet we supply. For export orders we fit motors wound for your country’s supply.
What can it grind in one pass?
Any plastic item below 40 inches: crates, large blow mouldings, thick rejects, purgings that fit the throat, and pre-shredded pieces from drums or furniture. If your largest item exceeds the throat, pair it with a shredder — we will tell you honestly which items need it.
How does 1,000–1,200 kg/hr translate to a day?
A steady single shift moves 8–10 tonnes; two shifts approach 20. Sizing at this scale is usually about matching the machine to your material logistics — feeding, discharge and bagging — which is exactly what we help you plan before quoting.
Why choose one RE40 over two smaller grinders?
One operator, one blade-maintenance schedule, one discharge point, and headroom that two RE25s cannot match on large items — the 40″ throat swallows rejects that would need pre-cutting on any smaller machine. Two machines still win where redundancy matters more than throughput; we will tell you which applies to you.
What is the price of the RE40?
Above the standard bands in our plastic shredder machine price guide — the RE40 is quoted against specification (screen, panel, discharge arrangement). Send your requirement and volumes for a firm quotation within one working day.
Can I see it run before committing?
Yes — bring your actual material to our works in Andheri East, Mumbai, and watch it processed on this machine before you decide. A trial settles throughput and output-size questions better than any brochure.
